After focusing on the greenhouse the past couple of months, I notice that there finally start to get some room in my head for another project: the renovation of our studio. And although we’re far from ready for something new (we haven’t even finished the greenhouse yet) I love the inspiration it gives me. 💕

I took this photos in the week between Christmas and New Year. In the first week of 2022 we tiled the back wall of the greenhouse and painted the other wall Pine green 🌲. Our plan is coming together and I love it. Now all I need is a little bit of spring, as I’m already making plans for our garden this year and can’t wait to get started. 🌿🌸🌱

Tomorrow the kids go back to school so things will get a bit more ‘normal’ again, whatever that word still means in times like these. The Christmas decorations are down, the lights are out, and although I like the ‘fresh’ and ‘new’ feeling it gives me, I already miss the festive season. How about you? 🎄💎

@sterrenlaann and I are very happy to announce that with all your help, we’ve raised an astounding 1660,50 for the animals with our ‘Malala the movie’. The money is going to be divided between @proefdiervrij and @sophiavereeniging. Fransje would have been so proud. ♥️ Thank you all so much! 🐔

Two bright and colorful pics to cheer up this grey day. Despite the progress we’re making on the greenhouse I’m having a hard time dealing with the lockdown in our country. I’m missing interaction, inspiration and spontaneity and I’m worried about (the future of) our children.

Our family has never been more divided before with hardcore virus-deniers on one side and on the other side the sorrow of postponed, but very much needed healthcare due to C. I really hope for brighter days in 2022, in every possible way. How are you holding up? (Please keep the comment section respectful)

Christmas is over, but we still have the photos (and the memories) of a very special first Christmas in the greenhouse.

We’ll continue the work on the greenhouse after New Year. There’s a small kitchen waiting to be placed, the wooden panels in the back will be tiled and the ones on the left painted. So, still enough work to do. 💪🏻

It’s still one of my favorite DIY’s, I absolutely loved every bit of it and working on it is a very nice distraction from everything that’s going on in the world. We’re heading to the darkest day of the year (December 21). Last week I had to say goodbye to a special aunt, one who taught me many lessons about life. She was the best artist of our family, very true to herself and her art. I’ll do my best to keep her legacy alive and will forever cherish our sign, forged by her (last pictures).

Another lockdown in the Netherlands right before the start of the holidays isn’t really helpful when it’s already hard to keep the spirits up, but like Tolkien said: ‘In the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer’. Let’s hold on to the good in this world, and let’s do that together. ♥️

The #piekenstolp, a DIY I created back in 2015, through the years. I mixed Russian Cathedrals, Tim Burton movies, Christmas markets and fairytales together in my head and this is what came out.

Every Christmas people send me photos of their #piekenstolp creations, something I absolutely love and feel very honored about. ♥️

This year the project reached a whole new level when I saw garden centers in the Netherlands offering ready to make ‘piekenstolp DIY kits’, I kid you not. A good idea becomes a great idea if you let it out, I guess. 🎄
