FAQ

About our home

Can you please tell me where you bought the ‘Liefde’-neonlight?
The neon light is custom made by Luc from neondesigns.nl Purchasing custom made neon is pretty expensive, but totally worth the costs. Don’t hesitate to contact Luc if you want to know more about it.

Where did you buy the vintage Tomado shelving in your living room?
As you can read here, I bought the shelving on marktplaats, a Dutch auction site.

I’d like to know where you bought the wallpaper on Wolf’s attic, the one with the owls?
The wallpaper is from the Dutch brand Onszelf and can be bought here, they also ship abroad.

I like your white floor. Which paint did you use? / Are you insane? A white floor with two kids?
When we wanted to paint our wooden floor white, people really thought we were insane. But it’s one of the best things we ever did. We aren’t super tidy and our children are allowed to make a mess. We painted the floor with Sigma-paint for wooden floors. Your local paint/DIY-store can probably tell you more about it.

The big white cabinet/locker in your living room, the one with the doors, where did you get that?
The white locker has been in our family for about 30 years now, it originally comes from a boarding-school where it was listed as trash. My parents picked it up and it’s been in my parents living room ever since I can remember. After Casper and I bought our house, it became ours. We’ve replaced the knobs and painted it white.

About my photo’s

I would like to use some of your photo’s on my own blog/tumblr/pinterestboard, are you ok with that?
You are free to do whatever you like with my pictures, but please respect the Link with love-rules and always credit Zilverblauw.nl Please don’t remove the Zilverblauw-logo.

Which camera(s) do you use?
I mostly use my Nikon D800E with Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 or Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G lens. The photos before juli 2014 are taken with a D600 with the same lenses I use on the D800E, and the photo’s before october 2012 are taken with a Nikon D90 with Nikkor 18-200 mm or Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8 lens. I still use the D90 when I travel, because it’s light and much smaller than the D800E. My analogue photo’s are shot with a Nikon Fm3a and Nikon FE.

Where do you develop your film / do you know where I can find film for my Polaroid-camera?
Our local photography-store develops my film. After developing, the film is digitized. I receive my analog photo’s on a cd. Almost every photography-store (in the Netherlands) can do this for you, but you can also go to the HEMA or Kruidvat. I purchase my Polaroid film from the Impossible Project.

What program do you use to edit your photo’s? Hoe krijg je je foto’s zo licht / je kleuren zo typisch?
I use Lightroom 4 and Adobe photoshop CS5.1 I’m lucky my husband is a graphic designer, he really helped me out when I started using these programs.

About blogging – in Dutch

Sorry daarvoor.
