GIVE-AWAY • Win 100,- shoptegoed van @directplantnl

Deze winter hebben we onze rododendrons vervangen door een beukenhaag. Ik hield van de prachtige bloemen van de rodo’s, maar ze waren (ondanks extra zorg) niet gelukkig in onze voortuin. We kregen de haag van @directplantnl en het mooie is dat we, perfect voor de start van het tuinseizoen, ook nog twee keer 100,- shoptegoed mogen weggeven. Je kunt het tegoed naar eigen inzicht spenderen in de Directplant webshop. Dus heb je zin in de lente en wil je lekker aan de slag in de tuin? Het enige wat je hoeft te doen is een reactie achterlaten. Leuk als je @directplantnl, @zilverblauw en @tuinbroekies volgt, maar voel je niet verplicht. Je kunt meedoen tot aanstaande zondag 26-02, de twee winnaars krijgen volgende week een DM.

It feels like I’ve unlocked a stage of adulthood I never thought I would be able to reach: I bought the (secondhand) showcase of my dreams. Look at all this wonderful space for my beloved treasures! 🥰 The showcase is a design from one of my favorite Dutch designers @florishovers and I will cherish it forever. So happy with it. ♥️

Nothing beats the January blues better than flower bulbs in bloom and a good old design sale at IKEA (remember the days of ‘Bråkig’ and ‘Industriell’ by Piet Hein Eek?). I managed to get my hands on a couple of products from the new ‘Varmblixt’ collection, a collaboration between @sabine_marcelis and @ikeanederland. Very lucky me, because it sold out pretty fast. Three sweet young hens joined the flock in our garden. We named them ‘de drie Ronja’s’ (they look and act very much alike) and as you can see, they already love the camera very much. 🙈🐔

Almost a year ago we started the proces of rebuilding our secondhand greenhouse from 1978. I never thought it would be such a happy place for me.

Even on hot days like today the temperature stays comfortable inside, thanks to the monumental 130-years old tree in our garden. Did you know the cooling effect of a large tree is equivalent to 10 room-size air conditioners operating 20 hours a day? Nature is pure magic. 💚

After focusing on the greenhouse the past couple of months, I notice that there finally start to get some room in my head for another project: the renovation of our studio. And although we’re far from ready for something new (we haven’t even finished the greenhouse yet) I love the inspiration it gives me. 💕

I took this photos in the week between Christmas and New Year. In the first week of 2022 we tiled the back wall of the greenhouse and painted the other wall Pine green 🌲. Our plan is coming together and I love it. Now all I need is a little bit of spring, as I’m already making plans for our garden this year and can’t wait to get started. 🌿🌸🌱

Tomorrow the kids go back to school so things will get a bit more ‘normal’ again, whatever that word still means in times like these. @sterrenlaann and I are very happy to announce that with all your help, we’ve raised an astounding 1660,50 for the animals with our ‘Malala the movie’. The money is going to be divided between @proefdiervrij and @sophiavereeniging. Fransje would have been so proud. ♥️ Thank you all so much! 🐔

Two bright and colorful pics to cheer up this grey day. Despite the progress we’re making on the greenhouse I’m having a hard time dealing with the lockdown in our country. I’m missing interaction, inspiration and spontaneity and I’m worried about (the future of) our children.

Our family has never been more divided before with hardcore virus-deniers on one side and on the other side the sorrow of postponed, but very much needed healthcare due to C. I really hope for brighter days in 2022, in every possible way. How are you holding up? (Please keep the comment section respectful)

Christmas is over, but we still have the photos (and the memories) of a very special first Christmas in the greenhouse.

We’ll continue the work on the greenhouse after New Year. There’s a small kitchen waiting to be placed, the wooden panels in the back will be tiled and the ones on the left painted. So, still enough work to do. 💪🏻
